Preparing ABN Amro’s IT Landscape for ECB Audit using PowerBI and ServiceNow

Client Overview:

ABN Amro is the 3rd largest bank in The Netherlands. Due to regulations set by ECB, every bank in The Netherlands needs to comply to certain IT Standards. The standards were identified using a survey internally on ServiceNow.

Current Stack: ServiceNow, PowerBI, Sharepoint.

Challenges Faced:
  • Visibility: The Deadline for this regulation was coming close and ABN didn’t have visibility on how many surveys have been completed and where they have been stuck.
  • Feedback Loop: As they were not measuring the survey results, they couldn’t see what they can improve for the next iteration of this survey as this will be a yearly activity.
  • Diverse Group of Stakeholders: There was not one person who was responsible for this implementation as the knowledge of the surveys was somewhere else and knowledge of the IT apps was somewhere else.
Solution:

KYD Analytics B.V. collaborated closely with the Tower Insights Team at ABN Amro to build visibility into their survey data and bring all the knowledge in one place for actionable improvements:

  1. Visibility and Accountability: Add the Survey Data into their Data Model and bring the KPI into their main reporting so it is visible on a leadership level, with details to find out where the surveys are getting stuck.
  2. Enhanced Feedback loop with Stakeholders: Setup regular connects with stakeholders to condense and combine information in one place so it would be easier to find information related to the Audit.
Results Achieved:
  1. Preparedness for Audit: The Organisation is now better equipped to identify potential issues or bottlenecks in survey processes, allowing them to address them proactively. The details provided in the reporting also offer insights into where surveys might be encountering obstacles, which aids in preemptive problem-solving. Overall, these actions contribute to improved readiness for audits by demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing potential issues.
  2. Coherent Communication: Setting up regular connections with stakeholders related to audits suggests a more organized and streamlined approach to communication. Now, stakeholders can access relevant data more easily, leading to clearer and more coherent communication. This enhances understanding and ensures that all parties involved are on the same page regarding audit-related matters.
Our Client's Testimonials

Ahad joined the team during a period when there was quite some pressure to deliver reporting in a short period of time. The reporting requirements were not yet defined. Ahad delivered actionable reports that were usable for the business in a very short period of time. A few meetings with stakeholders were enough for Ahad to translate an idea to a product. In addition, Ahad cooperated easily with both people inside and outside the team. Overall, a very good experience.
